Hi . Hello.
Okay let me start over. Assalamualaikum (may peace be upon you). Now isn't this greeting lovely? With only one arabic word we're saying to our fellow Muslim brothers and sisters, we are already making dua for them. We are wishing peace for the person. And that person shall answer may peace be upon you too. Isn't Islam really a religion of peace? :)
But that is not the topic for today. As I am such a forgetful almost 21 year-old young lady, I decided to do a draft in my phone's note about what I'm gonna write today.
Social expectation
Blind dates aren't even blind
Social media, I should stop - but I couldn't because then I'd feel like I'm living in a cave
There. My topics for today.
First thing first, (I'm the realest - you know you rapped in your head cause I sure did) social expectation. Look around us and we can surely see people are getting more and more obsessed with living up to the social expectations. In our physical appearance context, I mean. Most girls are crazy over thigh gaps and fair, glowing skins while guys with their abs and all. Or should I say, tall dark and handsome? *smirk* And the society nowadays are so engrossed with these, I can hear them screaming that people who fails to look as such will not be accepted into the community, without them even having to say anything. I am not saying everybody is having this kind of mentality, but majority does. And in that majority group, everybody who has such thought are included even if they would deny of thinking that way.
Lets take that one dull boring girl who sleeps all day, or if she is not, she would probably be with her Korean dramas and Bollywood movies for the whole day, who seems like she doesn't give a piece of care about the real world out there. What makes you think that even though she doesn't even try to put an effort into looking at the very least pretty like the characters in the movies she is watching, she doesn't have the thought of being as flawless and perfect as that woman?
Okay so mind those perfect looking woman from the movies. Let's take another more realistic example. Now take your phone out, open the Instagram apps and look at those real people with mostly comments going 'cantiknyaaaaaaa' or 'flawless' *heart eyed emoji*. And then there's another girl who looks very common, with her dark skin and crooked teeth and no fancy pieces of clothings on her. Say these two woman are equally normal and not famous. And they sell the exact same thing, say - power bank (cause this piece of item does not have anything to do with beauty). And with the exact same caption, who do you think would have more customers? Ding ding ding you got that right, the pretty one. Because it is in our nature to like pretty things, or in this case, person. Is that wrong? No, not at all. But you know what's wrong?
Our definition of beauty - this is where it all went wrong. Thigh gaps, white fair skin, red cherry lips, our society nowaday 's definition of beauty. This world is really unfair, isn't it now?

Okay enough about that now, Second one, blind dates are not even blind. This is actually related to the topic above where people would still look at looks. I mean if you are going out on a date for the first time with a stranger, you would definitely try to look your best. And because of this too, the person her or himself would be judging the person they are going to meet, through their looks. The first thing that they would see is, the person's appearances. Now you tell me, why does this called a blind date again? I mean if we really are trying to look at the heart, can't we put up a blindfold first, and then get to know each other, and then, take the blindfolds off. If he or she runs, that's it right there, that person is so not worthy of feeling sad to. And let me tell you, the person left behind will be sad, not because of the donkey who just left, but because their self esteem would immediately drop so low, it is beneath even the bottom of the Mariana Trench, the deepest part of the world's ocean! And to those who ran, ya nastyyyyy!

Third and the last topic, social media. What a mundane topic Nurin. If you are given a task of doing an impromptu speech in front of the class and you choose this topic, you would surely send all your classmates and the lecturer to sleep cause everybody else would have picked the same boring topic. But whatever, #taksukaakutakpaksa . Hahahahaha yes I just did that. Now, back to what I was saying. I have actually been having this thought of deactivating most accounts. I was wondering how does it feel like to be living freely as before. Before Facebook, before Twitter, before Instagram. I know I would be able to save a whole lot of time, that's for sure. But the thought of not going to be updated with the current news ASAP hold me back. I mean as bad as the influences these media are giving me, they are also my source of news and worldly updates. Plus, it is really convenient that I could keep in touch with everybody. Well the technologies are created so that our jobs could be made simpler too, no? See my dilemma?! Ahh stress!
So....long post hahaha. I was thinking of investing my time into vlogs now because I think talking would be pretty easy and less tiring. But nahh, I'd only humiliate myself then, ey?
Now it's time to go back to my Korean dramas and Bollywood movies. Toodloo. Assalamualaikum :)
