I just thought of Ipoh one day and told my housemates of the idea. Being the spontaneous and pantang diajak people they are, they thought yesterday was perfect since we have no presentation or test this week hahaha.
We began our journey at 4 in the morning and alhamdulillah as I love driving while it's still dark, we made it to Ipoh and reached our destination by 7 am. Stopped at RnR Tapah for Subuh prayer before that.
I had done some research of things to do and food that are famous there. Alhamdulillah, found out about Roti Telur Goyang for breakfast which is located at Medan Selera Dato Sagor. It was very confusing at first since Waze told us that we have reached our destination but all that we can see is Dewan Bandaraya on our left and Ibu Pejabat Polis and Masjid Sultan Idris Shah on our right. Turns out the stalls are located at the back of the Dewan Bandaraya. There were constructions being done that covered the stalls hence the WHERE IS THIS KEDAI KITORANG DAH LAPAR GILA NI situation haha.
Then we went to the Stesen Keretapi Ipoh and took some pictures in front of the building and pokok Ipoh. Well, things tourists do lah basically! Hehehe.
Next, we went to Taman Dr Seevanisagam and of course, took countless pictures at the Japanese Garden.
Things started to become messy after we got out of this park cause now we kinda have nowhere to go! It is true when a friend from Ipoh told us "Ipoh ni takde pape laaa". But we kinda ignored it and yeah, suffered lol. We tried to find Tasik Cermin I found out from Twitter but couldn't find the way in. But then when I asked a friend who coincidentally were there at the moment of how to get there, she told me that the way to get there is sooo sloppy and it's gonna ruin our shoes and all. Thus, I concluded that it's a good thing we didn't find it. I mean we were all dressed up kot! Lol
And then, we went to Restoran Yong Suan at Jalan Yang Kalsom for the famous nasi ganja. The queue was loooooong but that's for those who wanted to take away. If you're dining in, just find yourself a table (if you can find one) hahaha. We got there quite early for a lunch break so alhamdulillah we got our seats with only a little waiting.
And then we went to Ipoh Parade and Aeon (don't ask which, I have no idea) to kill time. The malls were quite decent but because of my tired body I couldn't enjoy myself there and just sat around while my other housemates, as usual goes to Watsons to try on more and more lipsticks :p
Now, the highlight of the dayyyyyy, Laksa Telur Goreng Bersarang, located at Jalan Margosa D/8. It is not in the Ipoh town but it was pretty easy to find. It was soooooo delicious I think I need to come to Ipoh again for it! My housemate who adores food like so so much are craving for them now so what time are we leaving you said just now? Haha.
Next, we looked for a masjid to perform our Zuhr prayer. Went to Masjid Sultan Idris Shah but unfortunately the female wudhu section was under construction so we decided to look for another masjid. We then went to Masjid Paloh alhamdulillah.
After performing our prayer, we went to Plan B to search for the famous ais kepal! It was situated in the same building of Plan B but the store selling the ais kepal was called Bits and Bobs, at the back of Plan B. It was very tricky eating that thing, but alhamdulillah all settled inside my stomach already.
Finally, our last destination was the wall murals. They are not specifically in one area, but most of them that we can find is at the area of Masjid Panglima Kinta.

Aaaaaand that's about it. It was time to get back to reality and classes and assignments and tests :(
We got out of Ipoh at around 4.30 pm and reached Puncak Alam at 7. We spent total of RM100 for the fuel (to and forth), around RM55 for the toll roundtrip (this is BEFORE the increment of the toll fee) and less than RM20 for food. Less than RM20 can you believe it?
PROOF:
Roti telur goyang - RM2.80 for 1 set
Drink (teh tarik, nescafe, etc) - RM1.10 each person
Nasi ganja - RM16 for 3 plates but we shared it for five people which makes 16/5 - RM3.20 each (original price RM5+ ?) *the cashier didn't believe that we ordered only three cause he saw 5 plates on our table. Ever heard of pinggan kosong? -.-
Drink (sirap) - RM1.50 each
Laksa Telur Goreng Bersarang - RM3.50 each (pay extra if you want more telur etc)
Ais kepal - RM3
See? Total of only RM15.10 spent :D
All in all, I really enjoyed this one day trip all praises to Allah. If there is one thing I learned from all the trips I've had, the joy of one's trip depends on the travelling partner. And I have to admit that this trip was jolly! Through sesat and boredom, we made everything fine by sticking to each other.
Next destination, Morib and Melaka! Ah can't wait to bring them to all the famous places in Melaka yeayyy. InsyaAllah <3
